This is an 'anything goes'page (although we reserve the right to move or delete anything) for the purposes of testing an idea.
We've installed a new commenting system that allows registered users to comment not only on articles but also on comments. In theory, this makes it possible to build an idea tree.
For example, if you believe that it's possible then you may write a comment expressing your opinion. Someone who disagrees may post a comment ON THIS ARTICLE stating that it's impossible. The second comment doesn't 'follow' the first. They are both 'front line' to the article. Let's call them A and B, in order of creation.
Someone reads comment A and has a cool idea about what can be done with idea trees. So he posts reply AA. Someone else has another idea and posts reply AB. We also get AC, AD, etc.
Comment B stimulates someone to think about alternative ways to create an idea tree, which produces reply BA. There is no BB, But soon we see BAA, BAB and BAC. BAC gives rise to BACA, BACB, and so on.
And so the tree grows. In theory it's possible to follow a thread from origin to many different conclusions, rather than have multiple conversations going on at the same time as they often do within conventional forums.
There's only one way to find out if it works, and that's to try it. So feel free to comment on any topic under the sun, and reply to any topic in whatever way seems appropriate. If the result is garbage then we'll throw it away. If it seems at all useful, even if just as an example of what not to do, then we'll keep it.
Many thanks. Have Fun!
